My "Restricted Meals" start today

Counting down to 8 Oct!!! So I can't take ALL the seafood, fish, even ikan bilis from today... No canned food too. I wonder how I can survive next 2wks... But still I am glad. My jubilee is nearing... I noticed that my face was a bit bloated. So hor... pls dun remind me ok. Very sad one leh. Ha!

Yestrdy, went for a belated birthday celebration with Roy and Xiang. They treated me to Sushi Tei and Haagen Daaz ice-cream. FULL. We reali had a nite of food and fellowship. Talk talk talk talk. I was like rattling alot even though my voice was a little strained. Haha. Very enjoyable. Xiang is also recovering from her operation. Can imagine that it muz hv been very painful even for her to walk. Anyway, she's feeling much better now.

After that went for kopi with some leaders at Coffee Club in Orchard. We were there from 10pm to 12plus. Wa. Didn't knw we can talk so long... I was shocked that it was 1am by the time I almost reached home. But I still couldn't sleep... Slept at 2plus and woke up at 5am... then again at dunno wat time. But nvm... It will be over soon. Hehe.

O Ya. I muz mention that a new friend, Marc, came on Friday for CG and he accepted Christ on Saturday SVC. So happy! We went fellowship and AMK Botak Jones. It was a long wait and a good fellowship just hanging around. The guys are so funny... I teased them that they were popular among gals but I labelled them as "Hua Xin Luo Bo". Adam was protesting: "like that one lo"... While Tim was all excited thinking that got gals asked for his number. Hahah... Oops. And the talkative Dennis was trying to "defend" his crush on a gal in sch. He exposed himself. Haha. And to see Jed so irritated by Dennis' nonsensical talk and "hungry-ghost" state. Btw, he had 1 steak, 1 burger, 3 cups of tea and my leftover fries and salad!

Look at Dennis... He's reaching for the fries in my plate. the 2 plates near him are his Dinner. And the cups also. Aiyo... This guy has a big appetite!

Missed sleep again...

I'm so tired. Woke up alot of times during my sleep again. Dunno is it i ended T3 (a weak form of hormones medication). Cos before taking T3, i was also waking up alot of times during sleep. Dun feel like going to work but I thk if I dun go today, next wk i dun thk i hv the strength to go liao. Nvm. I hope kopi-o will rescue me! :)

Haiz. Spent 2 hours waiting... The last time, the nurse told me to reach one hour before appt for my blood test. And today, after one hour of waiting, a nurse came out to tell me the blood test result is not out so I gotta wait before my turn to see doc. So I set there seeing all the queue numbers after mine called one by one and a long wait before my number was finally called. That's another 1hr.

Anyway, the doc says my calcium level is high. So he asked me to try taking once a day instead. Yeh... I'll probably be able to stop calcium tablets soon... Yippy! But he gave me a dressing to put over my scar cos it's a bit hard when he pressed that area. And that 5 pcs cost me $36! So ex...

That's my Monday.

 

Last few days' updates

Haven been blogging these few days cos very tired and busy with the maid and ah gong returning home from hospital. Just trying to get work for the maid is tiring. Cos she's new so to teach her wat to do means i got to show her wat to do first... I am so tired bcos of that. Then I gotta keep reminding myself to buy her dinner even when I dun want to eat. Aiyo... tired man...

Ah gong came back yesterday. He is very happy he's finally back home and has been sleeping the whole of yesterday. Very glad. But then bcos he's been in hospital, so he's used to doing the "big & small" on pampers. One pc of pampers cost 80cents. Estimated that he uses 5pcs per day. So it's $4 per day; $120 per month. Alot of money so Vic was a bit "burdened" abt it and sourcing out how to spend lesser by getting from JB. Still, we're just so happy ah gong is back. Jia you yi lao, ru you yi bao.

 

Went to buy tis lip balm that Sandra recommended. It's reali very good... My lips stop cracking and peeling after I used it! The rest of you looking for lip balm, i strongly recommend this too!! But its $35 hor... Ha.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, bought mooncake from Bengawan Solo for MIL and my mum. I think it's quite nice. Incidentally, the lady that served me oso went thru the Thyroid op before. Her scar was reali just a thin fair line that you won't notice if u didn't look for it on her neck. So I hope mine will be like tat too. :)

 

 

 

O ya.. Yesterday, it's the first time after one month that I sat with the members in the service. Worship was very good. Wept in the presence of God. Felt very encouraged and challenged in during worship and word. Many tots going thru my mind. Just can't wait till I totally recover from this. I couldn't even sing the worship song except mouthing the words and tis has caused my voice to become a bit hoarse. And worse after the fellowship with the CG, my voice was horrible. The guys made me laugh so badly. Tim's super racist jokes almost drove me to "murder" him repeatedly with a stick of Oreo bar. Haha.. Later at nite, Adam smsed me to take care. Felt so loved. Hee. I'm just glad that he's back for the last 2 wks. I hope by the end of year, I will hv the rest back again at the thanksgiving CGM. And this time, we will be stronger and more mature than last yr. We will all become better. I'm sure the CG is glad that we have all grown stronger even tho we have gone thru some downs...

All things work together for good to those who love God and to those who are called according to His purpose.

 

The new maid

Today, went to the maid agency to "select" the temporary maid so that ah gong can discharge from hospital this Saturday. Dunno was it the cab ride, I felt unwell when I get there. Worse was that I felt that the agent helping us with it is not helping us. She knew that the original maid who was in Indonesia went back to hometown thus can't come Spore within 2 wks but she didn't tell us! And she blamed us for delaying doing the required quiz for employing maid. So mad lo. And then she gave us a uncertain answer of when they will be able to contact that original maid. And left us with no choice to use this particular temp maid cos there is no other available. What is tis man... I'm glad Joyce was there to show the agent our unhappiness about their service. I gave a straight face cos I wasn't feeling well.

Anyway, we got the temp maid to go to the hospital to get her to be trained by the therapist on helping ah gong. Wow. We were surprised that ah gong can actually walk with minimal assistance! He reali recover real fast considering he's already 91yrs old. It's only 2mths ago that he fell and went thru op and now he can walk... He's a strong man... No wonder Victor loves him and admire him. Vic always say ah gong is a very nice man and loves his wife.

Back to the maid. I brought the maid back to our house to do some simple chores. Man, it's so difficult to get things for maid to do.. I got her to sweep and mop the floor. Then iron some of my tops and folded all the clothes. I even took out all the "mess" in Andrew's room and the "mess" in Vic's cupboard for her to fold. I mean, it's alot of clothes la... After that I just told her to sit and wait for the agent to bring her back. I think I gotta do a proper list of things for her to do when she's here.

Just this has drained me out today. Feel so tired... Dunno wat's wrong today. Feel tired tired tired. I took the medicine leh. My voice oso a bit low and "numb?". I think I strained my voice a bit since Sunday. Cos I was talking alot since then. I muz try to restrain myself. Can't spoil my vocal chords. The doc only say can't raise my voice leh, never say can't talk... Hmmm...

I think I better have an early night. Very tired. O ya.. I think today is the first time I didn't wake up in the middle of the night when I slept. I slept from 3am to like 9am straight. Then I went back to sleep again till 12pm. Wow... dun envy. *wink*

Was so surprised when I went into the office today! Greeted with a freshly decorated table!!! I was shocked! Almost thought I was shifted to somewhere else... Haha... So nice of the ZSecs to do this... Haha...

Feel so blessed this year. The pastoral staff prayed for me after the pastoral meeting and the leaders prayed for me after the leaders meeting as well. Feel so loved and blessed.

O ya, I must mention this as well... Daryl commented the that my skin looked better today. Feel happy for a split second but I brushed off saying it's the makeup effects. Vic says maybe it's a side effect of absence of thyroid bcos now the metabolism dropped so my face not so red. HA. That's so nice. HEE. Can it have a addtional side effect "bleaching of pimples scar"? HA! :D
